In the second round, Marco Tulio was pressing and trying to close the distance when he was caught squarely. When he landed a calf kick, the Brazilian left an opening, and Duncan took advantage with a precise spinning backfist, staggering his opponent before finishing with a brutal sequence of blows, resulting in a knockout.

With this result, Marco Tulio suffered his first defeat in the UFC, interrupting a streak of four victories, two in the organization and two in the Contender Series. Christian Leroy Duncan , in turn, secured his third consecutive victory in the octagon.
