When he won the Bellator light heavyweight GP in a surprisingly dominant fashion last Saturday (19), the former UFC Phil Davis stamped his passport for a title fight and his opponent was defined minutes later, when Liam McGeary successfully defended his title by submitting Tito Ortiz. Shortly after the event, president Scott Coker even revealed that there is already a date in mind for the duel to take place.

“I think we're probably going to promote this fight sometime in the first quarter of next year and I think it's going to be a great battle. I think it’s going to be a good fight”, said Coker, at the press conference after the event, in San Jose, California (USA).
