For many years, a duel between former UFC champion Randy Couture and former PRIDE champion Fedor Emelianenko It was the biggest dream of MMA fans. The confrontation never got off the ground, but this Thursday (17), fans were able to experience the sensation of what a confrontation between the two legendary heavyweights would be like.
During the half day (press day) of Bellator Dynamite, an event taking place this Saturday (19th) in San Jose (USA), Fedor and Couture, ambassadors of the event, took to the stage and even got into a rather humorous face-off.
Now 52 years old, Randy Couture retired from MMA with a record of 19 wins and 11 losses. After hanging up his gloves, Couture approached Bellator, and was even one of the coaches on the organization's reality show along the lines of The Ultimate Fighter, becoming persona non grata in the UFC.
Yes, Fedor Emelianenko, 38 years old, has a record of 34 wins, four losses and one fight without result. Recently, the Russian announced his return from retirement and left the MMA world in an uproar, mainly due to speculation that he could sign with the UFC.
