Newly arrived in the UFC, Alex Poatán He was already generating great expectations among combat sports fans after signing a contract with the company. Close to his second fight in the organization, the Brazilian apparently encountered setbacks and had to search for alternative opponents willing to face him in the octagon.
In a video recently published on his YouTube channel, Joaquin buckley He suddenly lashed out at the Brazilian and claimed that Poatan refused to fight him when officials offered his name. At the time, Alex was fighting in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg).

And he added, ‘But the bad news is that you won’t be able to accept the fight because your coach, or he himself, said you wouldn’t be ready in time,’” he said.
Wasting no time, Poatan used his social media to post a message he sent to the American at the time. Contrary to what Buckley claimed, the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) showed that the statement is controversial.
"Why did you send me that message? Out of the 15 who ran, you were the first. Now go back to the back of the line," he replied.
The message was dated March 29th, 17 days after Poatan faced Bruno Blindado and defeat his compatriot by unanimous decision of the judges.
