In an interview with the UFC, Glover highlighted Chimaev's potential, but pointed out that his behavior in training could be detrimental in the long run.

“He’s great. He talks the talk and keeps his promises. He’s an incredible fighter. The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes he trains with guys below his level and ends up hitting them too hard. But he’s a great fighter and he also knows how to communicate,” said Glover.
