In an interview with the UFC, Glover highlighted Chimaev's potential, but pointed out that his behavior in training could be detrimental in the long run.
“He’s great. He talks the talk and keeps his promises. He’s an incredible fighter. The only thing I don’t like is that sometimes he trains with guys below his level and ends up hitting them too hard. But he’s a great fighter and he also knows how to communicate,” said Glover.
Poatan was challenged by Chimaev.
The Brazilian's speech resonates at a time when the Chechen has once again challenged Alex Poatan on social media. After the Brazilian's victory at UFC 321 on October 4th, Chimaev posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he would be 'ready' to face him.
“ Alex Poatan , congratulations. Now we need to finish our business. I’m ready to fight you at heavyweight. You don’t need to find a better superfight than ours,” he wrote.
His coach, Andreas Michael, stated that the Chechen fighter could move up a weight class to pursue the belt against the Brazilian. However, Poatan made it clear that he does not intend to fight Chimaev at the moment.
