Scheduled to defend the heavyweight title (up to 120,2kg) at UFC 321, Tom aspinall ended up having an unexpected outcome in a duel against Cyryl GaneAfter being poked in both eyes, the champion claimed he was unable to continue fighting and was booed by the crowd in Abu Dhabi. The fight officially ended in a 'no contest'.
Once at the hospital to determine what had actually happened, Aspinall recorded the entire procedure. Not wanting to hide the outcome, the Englishman showed the moment when the doctor stated that he saw nothing urgent to treat.

“If he stays here (in the hospital), I need to see him on Monday. If he doesn’t stay, he should see someone in two days. Of course, you should stop fighting until you are well again and until you are cleared by the ophthalmology department on our side. Not after this one, but at the next visit. Regarding his vision, I think everything will be fine; we didn’t find anything dangerous,” declared the doctor responsible for treating Aspinall in Abu Dhabi after… UFC 321.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Aspinall reveals the moments he arrives at the hospital and begins receiving medical treatment. Sensitive to light and having difficulty performing standard exams, the fighter appeared to be in great pain while receiving medical attention, despite having "nothing dangerous" in his vision.
At the press conference of UFC 321Dana White assured that a rematch will be scheduled as soon as possible. Aspinall and Gane have not yet stated when they would be willing to face each other again.
