With the dominant victory over John Dodson at UFC 191, last Saturday (05), the flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson equaled the current record for consecutive title defenses, held by the Brazilian José Aldo. In addition to the milestone, the triumph also made Johnson climb the weight-for-pound rankings in Ultimate and get even closer to the Brazilian, leader of the relationship.
Previously in third, Johnson overtook the middleweight champion Chris Weidman and reached second place on the list that does not take weight categories into account. Another change in the weight-for-pound ranking involved the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum, who moved up to seventh place, leaving the welterweight belt holder behind Robbie Lawler.
Another Brazilian who did very well in the new update of the Ultimate rankings was John Lineker from Paraná. Shortly after his debut in the bantamweight division, the Brazilian also debuted in the top-15 of the 61,2 kg division, in 14th place, one place ahead of Francisco Rivera – his opponent in last weekend's event. Furthermore, Lineker also continues to appear in the same position in the flyweight category rankings.
