Jiu-jitsu specialist preaches patience in his career and sees opportunity to enter the rankings at UFC 321

Jaqueline Amorim wants to prove she deserves a shot in the top 15 of the strawweight division (up to 52,3kg), but sees a positive side if that doesn't happen yet. The jiu-jitsu specialist is in great form in the organization and, despite a streak of four stoppage wins, is scheduled to face an unranked opponent at UFC 321. According to the Brazilian, the fight represents an opportunity to evolve so she's ready when the time is right.

In a statement to UFC Brazil, Jaqueline reinforced her goal of entering the UFC rankings, but emphasized that she is still a young athlete and that the more fights she has outside the division's most competitive zone, the better prepared she will be for the future. However, she believes that a victory next Saturday could serve as a credential to enter the top 15.

“I’m coming off four wins. Obviously, my goal is to get into the rankings, but I’m also a very young fighter in the UFC. I think the more fights I have outside the rankings, the better for me to gain more experience. When I get into the rankings, I’ll be much more ready. With a win this Saturday, I can prove that I’m prepared to be a ranked fighter,” said Jaqueline Amorim.

At 30 years old, Jaqueline Amorim has 10 wins and only one loss in her career, precisely in her UFC debut. The American Top Team athlete is on an impressive run, with four consecutive victories, three by submission in the first round and one by technical knockout in the third.

The black belt will have the chance to extend her good run when she faces Japan's Mizuki Inoue at UFC 321, scheduled for next Saturday (25).
