McGregor assures Maddalena that the fight against Makhachev will be easy: 'Nothing to fear'

Irishman offers advice to welterweight champion ahead of highly anticipated showdown; athletes face off on November 15, UFC 322

Having disappeared from the spotlight after withdrawing his candidacy for the Irish presidency, Conor McGregor has once again attracted attention in a big way. A declared rival of the team Khabib Nurmagomedov, the fighter spoke with Craig Jones, training partner of Jack Della Maddalena and offered advice to the welterweight champion (up to 77,1 kg) who faces Islam makhachev on November 15th, at UFC 322.

In the former double champion's view, Islam will cool down in his new category and the Australian will be able to capitalize violently on the Russian's difficulty in handling weight at welterweight.

"He'll be easy to handle at that weight. He has no finishing ability, no positional awareness whatsoever. At best, he'll be a backpack. There's nothing to fear. Don't be afraid! Patience, fitness, and ferocity, and he'll be knocked out within five minutes," McGregor said in a conversation with Craig Jones.

Heading into a new UFC title fight, Makhachev is preparing to attempt his second belt. A former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg), the Russian has received praise from his coach, Javier Mendez, who expressed his admiration for his protégé's physique a month before the highly anticipated fight against Maddalena.
