Virna Jandiroba wants the opportunity to end any doubt about who is the best strawweight (up to 52,3 kg) in the UFC. The Brazilian faces Mackenzie Dern in the co-main event of UFC 321, in a duel valid for the vacant title of the division and, in case of victory, believes she will have to face former champion Zhang Weili.
In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', Virna Jandiroba stated that she believes Zhang Weili should return to strawweight, the category in which she was dominant for so long. The Brazilian highlighted that she considers a potential fight between the two a great challenge in her career and that she feels prepared to offer a balanced fight to the former champion.

“There’s a good chance that, no matter what happens, Weili will end up going back to the category where she was so dominant… I would like to have that challenge of facing someone who was as dominant as Weili. I believe I can give her a good fight. I have all the tools to beat her, but a fight is always a fight, you can’t know what will happen when the door closes. Still, I think it would be a fantastic challenge for me, as a person and as an athlete,” said Virna Jandiroba.
Zhang Weili vacated the strawweight division belt to prepare for a title fight in the flyweight division (up to 56,7 kg) against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 322. Meanwhile, at UFC 321, scheduled for this Saturday (21), Virna Jandiroba will share the octagon with Mackenzie Dern in a rematch valid for the category title.
