Currently ranked ninth in the middleweight rankings (up to 83,9 kg) and coming off two consecutive defeats, Robert whittaker believes that his successful history in the organization can lead him to greater heights, despite the difficult times he is experiencing in his career. Challenged by Caio Borralho, which he also lost in his last appearance, the Australian showed no importance and ended up avoiding talking about it.
In fact, what Whittaker really wants is to face Sean Strickland, in an unprecedented event scheduled to take place in June 2026, at the White House.

“I would love to fight against Sean Strickland in front of the White House. I've wanted to fight Strickland for a long time, simply because I like that fight (...) we've been in the same circles for a while, he's ranked third, which would put me back in a conversation I want to be a part of. I think it would be a fun fight, it would be a good fight to watch," Whittaker said during an interview with Main Event TV.
A former division champion looking to get back to winning ways, Strickland currently sits in third place, while Borralho is seventh. So far, Tarzan, as he's known, hasn't commented on the Australian's talk, despite having expressed interest in fighting as early as 2025.
