Jailton Malhadinho showed that opponents in combat sports don't have to be enemies. This Saturday (25), in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the Brazilian faces Alexander Volkov, in an extremely important duel in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg), and not only shared the same space as his opponent before the fight, but also expressed his respect for him.
On Tuesday (21), Jailton crossed paths with the two-meter-tall Russian giant at the hotel that the UFC reserves for the event's athletes staying during fight week, and the interaction was friendly. So much so that the pair, both of large physiques, drew attention when posing side by side for photos. In fact, Malhadinho approved of Volkov's posture and behavior, making a point of praising him on social media.
“Almeida (handshake) Volkov. Nice guy!” wrote the Brazilian on his official 'X' account.
Belt is right there
No UFC 321, Jailton Malhadinho has a golden opportunity to get closer to the heavyweight title fight. To do so, the Brazilian, ranked fifth in the category, simply needs to win Alexander Volkov, number two, on the main card of the event. The athlete currently has two consecutive wins.
