Not competing since July 2024, Tom aspinall will miss the octagon. This Saturday (25), in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) will face Cyryl Gane in the main fight of UFC 321. And anyone who thinks that the time off represents a concern for the Englishman is mistaken.
Aspinall exuded confidence ahead of the highly anticipated duel with the Frenchman. Known in the sport for his athleticism, knockout power, fighting IQ, and speed, the Englishman, considered the favorite against Gane, promised to justify his champion status in a resounding fashion. Given that his 15 MMA victories have come via knockout or submission, and in quick succession, Tom indicated that his opponent will become a statistic at UFC 321.
"I see myself beating Gane the same way I've beaten everyone. It doesn't matter who you are. If I hit you full force in the face, you're going down. I have to go out there and show him why I'm number one," the champion said in an interview with the 'Countdown' program, available on the UFC's official YouTube channel.
