Victim of the power of Alex Poatán on two occasions in the octagon, Jiri Prochazka does not hesitate to recognize the great talent of his tormentor, even with a desire to avenge the setbacks suffered. Present at the T-Mobile Arena to fight and also watch the rematch between the Brazilian and Magomed Ankalayev, the samurai assured that he was not surprised by the result, due to the 'spirit' that the new champion carried in his preparation.
Besides being thrilled with Poatan's achievement in UFC 320Prochazka revealed that something inside him already told him that the outcome of the rematch would be different.

“No, no, I wasn’t that surprised. Because when I saw Alex at the UFC Performance Institute and I saw how fit he was and how his training was going, and yeah, I saw Alex’s spirit and I saw Ankalaev’s spirit, so I said to myself, ‘Man, this is like a different story than the last one,’” Prochazka told MMA fighting.
Continuing with his speech, the Czech highlighted Poatan's change in attitude and once again reinforced his happiness with the fighter's triumph.
"Their first fight, which I watched, was really like I was saying to myself, 'Man, there's something wrong with him because he's holding back a little bit.' So, I'm happy he won, but that's it," he concluded.
Currently ranked first in the light heavyweight division (up to 93 kg), Prochazka is hoping to fight for the title again next. A former champion, the fighter is riding a two-fight winning streak.
