Jean Silva responded provocatively to Max Holloway after having his challenge rejected by the former UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg). The Brazilian, who had requested a fight for the symbolic 'BMF' belt at the White House, used social media to mock the Hawaiian and recall his defeat to Ilia Topuria.
The exchange of barbs began when Holloway mocked the challenge of Jean Silva, made shortly after the Brazilian mentioned his desire to compete for the 'BMF' title in 2026. Annoyed by the response, the athlete from the Fighting Nerds team decided to fight back.

“Said the guy who was almost knocked out by Topuria and then fought for the BMF belt (laughs),” Jean wrote, in a mocking tone, in the comments of an Ag Fight post on Instagram.
the provocation of Jean Silva refers to Holloway's defeat to Ilia Topuria, in February 2024, when the Hawaiian was brutally knocked out. Despite the setback, the former champion returned to the top by winning the BMF title months later.
Behind the scenes, there is an expectation that Holloway will face Charles of the Bronx in a rematch for the BMF belt in 2026, possibly in Las Vegas (USA). The fight was reportedly suggested by the Brazilian himself after his victory at UFC Rio. Jean Silva, in turn, comes from defeat to Diego lopes No. Night UFC, held in September, and still has no date set for his return to the octagon.
