Former Strikeforce champion, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, signed a multi-fight contract with Dream this Wednesday. The Brazilian will participate in the light heavyweight GP of the show that will begin on May 30th, in the fifteenth edition of the event. Richard Wilner, the athlete's representative, explained to the American website MMA Junkie the signing of the contract.
“The opportunity presented itself when we were looking for a fight, so we saw the possibility of fighting Dream,” he said. “This way we will represent Strikeforce in Japan”, he concluded.
Babalu hasn't fought since August last year, when he lost the Strikeforce belt to the Armenian Gegard Mousasi and will return to Japan, after almost nine years fighting on American soil.
