Jiri Prochazka watched the performance of Alex Poatán No. UFC 320 from the front row and, despite the difficulties the Brazilian had in the first fight against Magomed Ankalayev, the Samurai wasn't surprised by the devastating knockout in the rematch. The Czech claims he saw the spirit of each of the protagonists and knew it would be a different fight.
“No, no, I wasn't that surprised. Because when I saw Alex and saw how fit he was and how well his training was going… I saw Alex's spirit and I saw Ankalaev's spirit, and then I said to myself, 'Man, this is a different story than the last one.'… So, I'm happy that he won, but that's it.”
While Jiri Prochazka has eliminated some of the competition to face Alex Poatán, there is still an unprecedented challenge for the Brazilian in the light heavyweight division: Carlos Ulberg, training partner Israel adesanya. In addition to the New Zealander, Poatan also has his throne threatened by Khamzat Shimaev, middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg), who is showing interest in moving up a category for a super fight.
