Paulo borrachinha has reason to regret not having accepted to face Reinier DeRidder No. UFC Vancouver, held last Saturday (11). The miner was the first fighter sought by the UFC to replace the injured anthony hernandez in the main fight of the event. However, according to 'RDR', the former title challenger declined the invitation because he didn't have time to prepare for a five-round duel.

Without Paulo borrachinha, the vacancy ended up going to Brendan allen, which he took full advantage of. The American made things difficult for the Dutchman, who ended up giving up the fight between the fourth and fifth rounds, a result that made the Brazilian rethink his previous decision.

In a post on 'X', formerly Twitter, Paulo borrachinha mocked the withdrawal of Reinier DeRidder and pointed out that if he had known the fight would end sooner than expected, he would have tried his luck.

“If I knew it would only last 4 rounds, I would have tried.”, he wrote Paulo borrachinha.

After a long bad phase in his career, Paulo borrachinha won Roman Kopylov at UFC 318 and is now waiting for a good opportunity to return to the top of the Ultimate. Reinier DeRidder, in turn, had achieved four consecutive victories in the organization and was already considered for a possible title fight.
