UFC champions pay tribute to Minotauro: 'Thank you'

Fabrício Werdum, Rafael dos Anjos and Júnior Cigano are among the fighters who sent their message to the recently retired athlete

The recently announced retirement of Rodrigo Minotauro of MMA has already had an impact on other fighters. The veteran, who officially hung up his gloves this Tuesday (1st), received several tributes on social media, including from fighters with whom he has shared the ring and octagon.

One of them is Fabricio Werdum. Current UFC heavyweight champion, the gaucho has already faced Minotauro twice, losing once in PRIDE and winning in the rematch in 2013. “Vai Cavalo” left the rivalry aside and sent a very friendly message to Minotauro. “Today is a very special day for all fans of the true Vale-Tudo. Minotauro retired from MMA at 39 years of age. Having titles in RINGS, PRIDE and UFC on his resume, the Bahian left the sport with a record of 34 wins, ten losses, one draw and one unsuccessful fight.
