Anderson Silva will have the chance to take revenge on the biggest executioner of his career. Spider will come face to face with Chris Weidman for the third time, but this time in a boxing match, scheduled for November 14th in Miami, on the same card as Jake Paul x Gervonta Davis, streaming on Netflix.
The CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, responsible for the event, revealed to ESPN that the initiative to hold the fight came from Anderson Silva and his team. According to Nakisa Bidarian, the Brazilian showed immediate interest in participating in the event after the announcement of the fight between Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis, highlighting that he wanted to face Chris Weidman in a professional fight.

After years of reigning in the UFC's middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg), Anderson Silva was paired with Chris Weidman for a duel that seemed like mere formality for the Brazilian. However, the American scored a knockout that ended the Spider's 16-fight UFC winning streak.
In the immediate rematch at UFC 168, Weidman won again, this time after Anderson Silva fracture the shin when kicking and having the blow defended by the North American.
Twelve years later, the old rivals will face each other again in a six-round professional boxing match in the under-93 kg category.
