Considered one of the biggest promises in the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg) when hired by the UFC, André Sergipano ended up not being able to live up to the expectations of the leaders and was fired on Wednesday (15) after suffering a negative sequence. Known for his great talent in jiu-jitsu, the fighter last performed at UFC 320, where he was knocked out by Edmen shahbazyan in the first round.
Signed after two Contender Series victories, Sergipano arrived in the organization with momentum and racked up six consecutive victories, four of which were by submission. One of his greatest achievements, in the view of many fans, was his victory over Ronaldo Jacare, when he broke his compatriot's arm by applying an armbar and triumphing in the UFC 262.

The negative tide began in 2023, when finished by Brendan allen. Since then, the Brazilian has appeared four more times and has only beaten one rival, in December 2023, when he faced Jun Yong Park. So far, Sergipano has not publicly commented on his dismissal.
