The surname Burns is already synonymous with excellence in jiu-jitsu within the MMA universe and it is precisely in the search to honor his family, the gentle art and his country, that the featherweight Herbert Burns, younger brother of the coach of Vitor belfort and UFC athlete Gilbert “Durinho” Burns, goes in search of the ONE FC belt, the main mixed martial arts event in Asia today.

Herbert signed a contract to face Russian Timofey Nastyukhin in the co-main fight of ONE Championship, scheduled for September 27th, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The duel between Burns and Nastyukhin will define the next challenger for the featherweight title, whose belt will be contested between champion Narantungalag Jadambaa and challenger Marat Gafurov in the main fight of the same event.

In an exclusive chat with SUPER FIGHTS, Herbert spoke about the duel and promised to bring the title to Brazil. “I never asked for an easy fight, to make a card. I'm here at ONE FC to be champion and the only thing between a title shot and me today is Nastyukhin. He appeared at the wrong time, I'm hungry for this victory”, said the Evolve MMA athlete. “This belt will go to Brazil”, he added.

Furthermore, the Brazilian also analyzed his opponent. “The Russian is very tough, he hits very hard and is explosive, but on the other hand he never made it past the first round. I also like to finish my fights quickly. So, if he comes like crazy to knock him out, I'll take him down and work to catch him. But if it’s strategy, that’s fine, I’m willing to take him for a long fight”, he guaranteed.
