Daniel Cormier can't stand any more retirement announcements José Aldo. The Brazilian, who had already retired from MMA, returned and announced his retirement again in UFC 315. To seal the end of his career, the former champion received a tribute in the UFC Rio octagon, in a ceremony that left the former fighter, and now commentator, furious.

During the edition of the program 'Good Guy / Bad Guy', with Chael Sonnen, Daniel Cormier stated, ironically, that he is fed up with the tributes to José Aldo. According to the former fighter, if the 'King of Rio' receives a new retirement honor he will destroy his television.

"I can't get emotional over someone like this over and over again. If he comes to São Paulo and has another retirement ceremony where he leaves his gloves on the floor, I'm going to throw something at my TV," said Daniel Comier.

Retirement of José Aldo

The 'King of Rio' took a brief hiatus from the UFC in 2022, after being defeated by the current bantamweight champion (up to 61,2 kg.), Merab Dvalishvili. Aldo ventured into boxing, where he won two fights and drew one until returning to Dana White's organization in 2024. The Brazilian won Jonathan martinez on his return, but then lost two consecutive fights to mario bautista and recently for Zahabi.

This is the second time Aldo has announced his retirement from MMA. In September 2022, the former WEC and UFC featherweight champion announced his retirement after the birth of his son. He competed in boxing matches but returned to the UFC in May 2024.
