Moicano calls fight against Charles do Bronx at UFC Rio a 'failure' after compatriot's victory

Renato Moicano got rid of one. But shortly after, Moicano, like the Frenchman, backtracked, stating that he had declined the fight with Charles because he was injured, unable to train, and prioritizing his career as a YouTuber. Furthermore, coach Marcos 'Parrumpinha' had vetoed his athlete, under these circumstances, from facing his compatriot at UFC Rio. Therefore, Renato applauded Do Bronx and admitted he did well not to face him.

"The champion is back. He ran to his people. An event made for Charles. He had a tough fight, and he accepted against all odds. Freedom sang for Charles. He won. Congratulations, Charles. This is the mess they were trying to put me in. A bald guy who hasn't trained, making jokes on YouTube," said the veteran.

Fighter was criticized

This wasn't the first time Renato Moicano publicly asked for a fight, but then declined the challenge. Before the episode with Charles of the Bronx, the veteran adopted the same tactic in relation to a duel against Justin gaethjeOn both occasions, the Brazilian was criticized by parts of the MMA community. In fact, the São Paulo native also reprimanded his compatriot more than once for his stance.
