Jonathan Diniz suffered at UFC Rio. At the event held this Saturday (11), the Brazilian faced Mário Pinto in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) and was dominated. The striker even tried to resist, but could not find solutions to prevent the Portuguese's takedowns and ground and pound and ended up knocked out in the second round.
This was Jhonata's second loss in five UFC appearances. Now, the Brazilian is far from breaking into the top 15 of MMA's most dangerous division. Pinto, on the other hand, remains undefeated in the sport, with 11 wins. Excited, the Portuguese prospect, a promising fighter in the sport, expressed his desire to fight more frequently for the company.

Pinto started the fight by surprising the Brazilian. The Portuguese fighter took Jhonata down twice. From the top, Pinto controlled the Brazilian. The most acute moment came when the Portuguese fighter placed Jhonata in a crucifix, trapping his arm with his legs and punishing him with elbows to the face. Next, Pinto went for the kimura and armbar, but the Brazilian defended.
In the second round, Jhonata, alert, defended the Portuguese fighter's takedown attempt. But, against the fence, the Brazilian got the worst of the exchange of strength and was taken down. From the top, the Portuguese fighter unleashed elbows and punches to his opponent's face. Jhonata even tried to reverse the position, but was unsuccessful. Once again on the bottom, the Brazilian continued to be punished. Bleeding, Jhonata tried to lock up his opponent, but was hit by a heavy flurry of punches and knocked out.
