Victor Petrino delighted the Brazilian public with a devastating left cross à la Alex Poatán and won Thomas Petersen in the third round for the heavyweight division (up to 93kg) at UFC Rio this Saturday (11). The Brazilian asked to face Marcin tybura and promised that he will still be the division champion in the future.

With the result, Petrino achieved his second consecutive victory in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg) and has a record of 13 wins and two losses in his career. The knockout was reminiscent of Alex Poatán about Thomas Powell, still at LFA.

After the fight, still in the octagon, Victor Petrino He made a promise to become a heavyweight champion in the future. He reveals that he fought injured, but that he wanted to continue in the event to fight in front of the fans.

"Sorry to feel a little off. I had a knee injury, stopped training for two weeks, and then kept going. I have a promise to all of you: I don't know how long it will take, but I will be the division champion. You can write my name down. It will happen," said the fighter.

Petrino started out strong but surprised with his strategy of seeking the cage. Petersen, in turn, showed good defense and turned the situation around.
