The loss thwarts Walker's plans, as he was seeking his fourth consecutive victory in the organization. The prospect of fighting at home, in front of a Brazilian crowd, was one of the most anticipated moments of his UFC career. The cancellation also impacts the UFC Rio preliminary card, which will have to be reorganized.
It's not yet clear whether Walker will be moved to another event or if the UFC will be able to find a last-minute replacement. The fighter, however, remains training and prepared in case the organization confirms a new opportunity.
