Alex Poatán did not forget his origins during the celebrations for the victory over Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC 320, held last Saturday (4). The Brazilian, who knocked out the Russian in just 80 seconds of fighting and regained the UFC light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg), did not take long to return to his hometown and share the title with the children from his institute.

The Poatan Institute is a social project founded by the fighter in the Batistini neighborhood of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, with the goal of providing opportunities for underprivileged children and young people. The initiative provides free English, martial arts (such as jiu-jitsu and kickboxing), and academic tutoring classes, encouraging focus, discipline, and resilience.

The Brazilian's motivation in creating the project is to give back to the community where he was born and raised, combating social problems, such as drug and alcohol involvement, through sports and education.
