Finally with an official date to return to the world's most famous octagon at UFC Qatar in November, Arman Tsarukyan could become the number one contender in the lightweight category (up to 77,1 kg) if he wins Dan Hooker in the main event. However, despite recognizing the importance of the moment for his career in the sport and counting on the presence of important people in his life, the Armenian made it clear that his mother will not be present in the arena on the day of the fight.

The statement was made by the fighter himself in an interview with 'The Ariel Helwani Show' last Tuesday (7). According to him, the brutal nature of MMA is something too intense for her to witness, however the fighter stressed that her father will be present.
"My mom will stay home. It's a men's sport; women should stay home. I don't know how my mom could go to my fight. There's a lot of blood, and her son could get hurt. It's not a good place. She doesn't watch on TV; she just waits to hear the results of my fights."
Arman Tsarukyan says his father will be in attendance for his fight at #UFCQatar, but not his mother
"She's gonna stay home. It's a man's sport, women should be at home."

Arman Tsarukyan is coming off a victory against Charles do Bronx at UFC 300
Despite being ranked second in the weight class, Tsarukyan hasn't stepped into the Octagon in over a year. The Armenian last competed in the legendary UFC 300, in April of last year. On that occasion, he won Charles of the Bronx by split decision in a very close duel. He was ready to face Islam makhachev in the first numbered event of this year but ended up injuring his back and was forced to leave the card a day before the weigh-in, being replaced by Renato Moicano.
