Alex Poatán shone in UFC 320, realizado no último sábado (4), e fez Magomed Ankalayev look like an amateur inside the Octagon. The Russian was his only opponent in the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg), and given the ease of victory, many doors opened for the champion's future, including opportunities for superfights and even an unprecedented triple championship in the Ultimate.

Given these possibilities, the SUPER LUTAS team outlined the most likely scenarios for Poatan's future in the UFC.
Alex Poatan vs Jon Jones at UFC Casa Branca
After the victory over Magomed Ankalayev, Alex Poatán made clear what he wants: to face Jon Jones in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). The Brazilian, with great respect, revealed his desire to face the former champion and indicated UFC Casa Branca as the ideal stage for this confrontation.
Although this is Poatan's wish, Dana White doesn't seem to be thrilled with the idea. The UFC president has already stated that he doesn't trust Poatan's return. Jon Jones, who recently announced his retirement, but says he intends to return, precisely at UFC Casa Branca.
Staying in the heavyweight division

If the doors to the heavyweight division are closed, the champion still has interesting challenges in his own division. The main one is Carlos Ulberg, training partner Israel adesanya, who is enjoying a great run in the UFC, with nine consecutive wins. This fight could reignite the rivalry between Poatan and Adesanya.
Another possible opponent is an old acquaintance of the Brazilian: Jiri Prochazka. The Czech “samurai”, already knocked out twice by Poatan, recovered and is in great form, with two consecutive knockouts over Jamahal hill e Khalil rountree.

Another possibility, if Poatan remains at light heavyweight, is a superfight against Khamzat Shimaev, the current middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg). "The Wolf" congratulated the Brazilian and expressed interest in facing him after his victory over Ankalaev.
"I'm ready to fight you at heavyweight. You won't find a better superfight than ours. Don't call it, this is 'SMASH EVERYBODY,'" Chimaev wrote, countering Poatan's catchphrase and reaffirming his own.

The Pataxó, however, were indifferent to the challenge.

Se Alex Poatán actually move up to heavyweight, his natural position would be as the number one contender for the division's belt. The Brazilian is already looking forward to a possible fight against the interim champion, Tom aspinall.
However, before thinking about fighting for his third belt, Poatan must follow the outcome between Tom aspinall e Cyryl Gane, who face each other in the main fight of the UFC 321.
