Respect! Jon Jones reacts to Alex Poatan's tribute after his UFC 320 victory

The victory of Alex Poatán about Magomed Ankalayev No. UFC 320, no último sábado (4), teve um dos momentos mais emocionantes da noite. Após nocautear o rival e recuperar o cinturão dos meio-pesados (até 93kg), o brasileiro surpreendeu ao dedicar o triunfo a Arthur Jones, irmão falecido de Jon Jones, former Ultimate champion and considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time.

During the celebration, Poatan asked for a moment of silence at the arena in Las Vegas, USA, in respect for the loss of the Jones family. The gesture moved the audience and quickly spread across social media. Moments later, Jon Jones used X (formerly Twitter) to thank the tribute, publishing a short but respectful message.

“Wow Alex,” wrote the American.

Poatan had initially planned to challenge Jones to a heavyweight superfight after the victory, but chose to postpone any provocation out of respect for his rival's current situation.

As a result, Alex Poatán became the first fighter since Jon Jones, in 2018, to regain the light heavyweight belt.
