Alex Poatán continues to aim for the biggest possible challenges within the UFC. After knocking out Magomed Ankalayev and reclaim the light heavyweight (up to 93kg) belt in UFC 320The Brazilian made it clear that he has no immediate interest in facing the winner of the duel between Tom aspinall e Cyryl Gane for the linear heavyweight belt (up to 120,2 kg).
In a post-event interview with the UFC, Poatan was direct when talking about his plans and mentioned Jon Jones, former linear heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg), as the ideal target.

“No, I want a super fight. It would be at the White House against Jon Jones. This is a super fight,” declared the Brazilian.
The statement reinforces Poatan's confidence and ambition, having previously expressed to UFC president Dana White his desire to move up to heavyweight. Despite his excitement, the UFC president preferred to remain cautious, stating that interesting challenges still lie ahead for the light heavyweight champion.
For now, Poatan must undergo tests after reporting a suspected foot fracture during the fight against Ankalaev. He believes he fractured it after a kick from the Russian before the punches that sealed his return to the top of the UFC in the first round.
