Regardless, Poatan was respectful in his approach, as he has a close relationship with Jones. Since the American publicly announced his desire to compete at UFC Casa Branca, an event scheduled for July 2026, Jones opened the door for the superfight to take place at heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg). It's worth noting that the league's stars had previously expressed interest in the bout.

I said: 'For the love of God'. I'm speaking with all due respect and I would like you to respect me too, but yes, that was my plan: to be calling the Jon Jones to fight in the White House. But with everything that's happened, I have to be careful what I say. So, for the love of God, I ask that you don't make a fuss about this," said the athlete.
