Vitor Belfort fires shots at former rivals Weidman and Rockhold

Vitor belfort already has a date and place to return to the UFC octagon: it will be on November 7th, in São Paulo, when he will face Dan Henderson. Even so, the veteran Brazilian expressed his desire to face two of his old rivals again, who will compete for the middleweight belt at the end of the year: Chris Weidman e Luke Rockhold.

Belfort defeated Rockhold by knockout in 2013, but ended up losing by technical knockout to Weidman in May of this year. If he defeats Henderson again, the Brazilian hopes to face one of the two in the future.

However, the “Phenomenon” did not stop poking the two Americans. “My focus is Dan Henderson, but I would like to catch the loudmouth Rockhold or Weidman without using the fight postponement strategy he used before. Whichever of these wins will be a good fight. Either Belfort x Rockhold 2, to shut up the loudmouth, or Belfort x Weidman 2, without strategic postponements”, said Belfort, in an interview with the website “Lance!Net”.

The postponements that Belfort refers to were the date changes for the fight he made against Weidman. Originally, the two were going to face each other in December last year, but an injury to the American postponed the fight until February. However, the champion was injured again, which postponed the fight to May.

“I'm not going to make excuses for what happened in my last fight, but without a doubt the postponements hurt me a lot. I'm not even talking about the almost two years without fighting, but the exhaustion of doing intense training and stopping. I did this more than three times and it was really exhausting. Now I’m ready for this new fight”, commented Belfort.
