Former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) and currently seeking to regain the title in the light heavyweight (up to 93 kg), Alex Poatán continues to be questioned about a possible change of category next. After flirting with a duel against Tom aspinall in the past, the Brazilian still does not demonstrate complete certainty about what changes will be made before hanging up his gloves.
Despite not making any final decisions, Poatan made a point of opening up about his weight and declared that, as time goes by, everything indicates that heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) could be his next destination in his UFC career.

"I can't answer that (in which division my career will end), I'd like to in the future, because my weight is going up. I don't know how long I'll be able to do this (weight cutting). 38 years, I don't know... I'll just do it the way I'm doing it and eventually we'll see what happens," Poatan said during a press conference in Las Vegas.
The current king of the division, Aspinall, has already warned the Brazilian about what he would do in a potential Octagon fight. According to the Englishman, within seconds the strategy would be to "explode" the São Paulo native's legs, taking the fight to the ground.
Determined to return to winning ways, Poatan will perform this Saturday (04), in a rematch against Magomed Ankalayev for the light heavyweight belt. If he wins the throne again, the athlete has previously indicated that he is interested in measuring his strength against Carlos Ulberg.
