In a video posted on his Instagram on Tuesday morning (30), Popó thanked his fans for their support and reassured the public about his condition.

"Hey everyone. I'm already being discharged from the hospital, after being hospitalized since Sunday. I had surgery and needed sedation, but everything went well. Now I'm released and recovering. We're fine," said the four-time champion, his arm bandaged.
Acelino did not provide further details about the procedures performed, but stated that the surgery was successful. The injury was caused by an accident that occurred during the post-fight commotion with Wanderlei Silva, in which Popó's son, Rafael Freitas, punched Wanderlei, knocking him down and knocking him out for a few moments. The former MMA fighter was hospitalized with fractures and bruises but has since been released.
The incident also led to the cancellation of the fight between Popó and former Big Brother Brasil contestant Diego Alemão, scheduled for November, in Fight Music Show. The event organizers, given the situation, opened a poll for fans to choose the new opponent for the former BBB champion.
