The rivalry between Alex Poatán e Magomed Ankalayev continues at full steam and the second chapter of it takes place this Saturday (4), in Las Vegas (USA). Before the settlement of accounts takes place, the Brazilian, during a chat with journalists, did not shy away from a controversial subject: the insinuations of the Russian team that he had used body lubrication to avoid falls.
In fact, the former UFC light heavyweight champion (93 kg) was blunt when addressing the issue. As expected, Poatan defended himself, asserting that he is a clean competitor who doesn't use subterfuge to gain an advantage in combat.

Ankalaev and his coach brought the controversy to light after the striker surprised everyone in the first fight, defending against every takedown attempt. According to Poatan, the move showed desperation on the part of the opposing team, as it demonstrated his evolution as a martial artist.
"I heard him talking about this oil on his body thing, but that just shows how much I've evolved in this game and how I've shown people who expected him to take me down easily and all that. With this excuse of his, it's really good for me to strengthen my mind and know that I was able to neutralize his game, because that's what happened. There was no oil on his body. I don't do that," said the athlete.
Royal rivalry
As before, the atmosphere between the athletes for the rematch is hostile. The animosity is so real that Poatan and Ankalaev came face-to-face at the UFC Performance Institute and exchanged unfriendly words with the help of Google Translate.
