Vitor belfort sees a confrontation with Acelino Popo with good eyes. After winning Wanderlei Silva for disqualification and getting involved in a general brawl between the teams at Spaten Fight Night 2, the former champion apologized for what happened and extended his challenge to the Bahian, who didn't even consider refusing.

In a video published by Renato Cariani on YouTube, Belfort stated that it was already in his plans to face both Popó and Wanderlei Silva, regardless of the result. However, given the confusion, he assured that he no longer intends to share the ring with the 'Mad Dog'.

"The challenge is accepted. I already said it: the winner would fight me. I'd start with the winner and end with the loser, but that loser doesn't deserve to step into the ring with anyone. After this show, Wanderlei doesn't deserve to fight anyone," said Belfort.

The former UFC fighter subsequently made it clear that he wants to face Popó in a boxing match, even though, according to him, the rules favor the four-time world champion. For Belfort, a fight between the two could help clean up the boxer's image and that of combat sports in general.

"Now, my question is simple. Popó agreed to fight Wanderlei, but without him going over 98kg. In my case, I fight at 91kg. I can go down to 91kg, and it would be a phenomenal fight. The advantage is his; he's the boxer, he's in his sport. But his bar is dirty. Not because of what he did, but because of the way the fight ended... Spaten deserves this fight, for sure," Belfort concluded.
