Considered one of the biggest gyms in the world, Galpão da Luta continues to be successful in polishing talent before they reach the dreamed position in the UFC. This Sunday (28) the northeastern team traveled to São Paulo to make four appearances in the Thunder Fight cage and the result was absolute dominance by the members.
The first representative to don the gloves, Bruno Oliveira, better known as "Caveirão," started the event on the right foot. Scheduled to face Thiago dos Santos in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), the fighter relied on his jiu-jitsu expertise and, after two rounds of intense fighting, the Bahia native applied a triangle choke in the final round, forcing his opponent to tap out. This was the athlete's sixth consecutive victory.

In a post-fight interview, the category prospect assured that he was already prepared to fight MMA, regardless of the scenario his rival offered.
"I was prepared for anything. I'm here to fight on top, fight on the ground. I told my teachers beforehand: 'Whatever he played, I would dance,' and that's what happened. Bahia is punches to the head and a crushing on the ground," Bruno declared.

In the next fight, Vivian Nepomuceno demonstrated that, in addition to Galpão da Luta's high level of grappling, her stand-up attacks are also highly effective. At 21 years old, the fighter from Ipira, Bahia, managed to claim another victim with her aggressiveness, knocking out Jaine Mariano in the second round, extending her unbeaten professional streak to two victories.
Just like her training partner, 'Vermelha', as she is nicknamed, also highlighted the great work she does in the gym with her trainers.
"We worked a lot on my strengths, which is striking, but we're very strong on the ground and we've improved that too, so I worked on everything I need to work on, on the ground and on the ground, and I showed it there. My dream is to make it to the biggest event in the world, the UFC, and I'm working hard on that. I have a lot of confidence in this, in the people at Galpão, and in my manager Léo (Pateira)," he said.

With a 2-0 win in favor of Galpão da Luta, Lazaro 'Gazo' Mascarenhas had a huge responsibility to maintain his positive record, and he did not disappoint. Despite reporting difficulties with weight cutting and pre-fight preparation, the Poções fighter showed great determination and ground control, defeating Vitor Zmish by split decision after both athletes engaged in a lively and aggressive duel.
With his sights set on the UFC, Gazo, who competes in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg), has now won 16 professional matches, his third in a row. Clearly tired during the post-fight interview and lacking the energy to speak further, the athlete dedicated his victory to his fiancée, as the date marked their sixth anniversary.

In the main event, Mário Piazzon carried the team's banner to face Fernando Batista in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2 kg). Determined to return to winning ways, the Contender Series contender bet on the main event, taking down his compatriot, and then brutally dominating him. Despite surviving the first round, the Bahian's rival succumbed in the second round and lost by technical knockout.
"Thank God I managed to come away with the win today. At the last event, I suffered a setback. I want a rematch against that guy (Alex Junius), it wasn't my night. Today I proved I'm the best heavyweight in Brazil outside the UFC, so bring it on, Marmaduke. I wasn't here that night, but today I showed I'm that bloodthirsty guy who brings chaos and violence to the Octagon," he declared.

The event is known for having hosted names such as Jailton Malhadinho, Diego lopes, Caio Borralho, Samuel Sanches, Natalie Silva, Eduardo Moura and other big names that are now part of the UFC.
