It's no secret that Israel Adesanya is one of the best strikers currently active in MMA. However, anyone who thinks the Nigerian is satisfied with his level of skill in stand-up fighting is mistaken. Always seeking improvement, the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9 kg) welcomed Mauricio Ruffy to Australia last week, exchanged knowledge with him in training, and approved of the experience.

In a post shared by the Brazilian on his official Instagram account, Adesanya made a point of praising him. It's worth noting that, like the veteran, Luffy specializes in striking and is known for his creativity and technique.

Thus, the Nigerian, when talking to the Fighting Nerds team member and observing his movements, was impressed by such naturalness and fluidity. This wasn't the first time Adesanya confessed his fascination with Luffy.

"I learned a lot today watching this guy. I like the system and the way he thinks, too. He conceptualizes things and makes it fun, like the child in us. Thank you so much," said the former UFC champion.

Adesanya's next move is a mystery

Israel Adesanya is a UFC star, but he's going through a rough patch in his career. Currently, the former middleweight champion has lost three fights in a row, but has ruled out any possibility of retiring from MMA. In any case, the company has not yet scheduled the Nigerian's next fight.
