From the fifth to sixth rounds, the Uruguayan showed signs of fatigue, while the Brazilian picked up the pace, sped up her counterattacks, and dodged her attacks. In the seventh, Beatriz slowed down, ceded the center of the ring, and began controlling the action. In the eighth, she regained her momentum, gained confidence, and used accurate counterattacks, luring her opponent with her guard down.

In the penultimate round, Maira still managed to land a good straight punch that pushed the Brazilian against the ropes, but Beatriz used her experience with clinches and movement until landing a left cross that unbalanced her opponent in the final stretch.
