Brazil started off on the right foot at UFC Perth. The country's first representative at the event held this Saturday (27), in Australia, Alexia Thainara continued her good moment in the biggest MMA organization in the world. The athlete controlled Loma Lookboonmee and won by unanimous decision of the judges at the end of 15 minutes of action.
With her second victory in two UFC fights, Alexia gains prominence in the strawweight division (up to 52,1 kg). In fact, having defeated Lookboonmee, the Brazilian is expected to enter the category rankings for the first time, taking over the 14th spot. Meanwhile, the Thai fighter saw her four-fight winning streak come to an end.

Alexia started with low kicks. Loma responded with precise attacks. In the first minute, the Brazilian tried to take her opponent down but was unsuccessful. The fighters then exchanged blows. Gaining confidence, Alexia threatened Loma with an elbow and a spinning kick. At the end of the round, the Brazilian managed to take her down but didn't do much damage from the top. With the fight back on the feet, Loma sought to be more aggressive. However, Alexia took advantage of the situation, landed another takedown, and landed powerful punches on her opponent.
In the second round, the pace remained intense. The Brazilian, better at grappling, easily took Loma down but couldn't control her on the ground. Standing, the athlete was precise with her kicks. Getting the worst of it, Alexia took her opponent down again and punished her with punches. It's true that Loma got up, but the Brazilian remained glued to her, pinning her to the fence.
In the third and final round, Alexia sought a takedown, but her opponent hit the ground and came back. In the clinch, the Brazilian worked with knees and stomps. Having the worst of the fight, Loma sought to attack, but the stronger Alexia controlled the situation. Against the fence, the athlete continued to score points without exposing herself. On the ground, the Brazilian neutralized Loma until the end of the fight.
