In the most important fight of Spaten Fight Night 2, Acelino “Popó” showed the big difference between boxing and MMA. The Bahian faced Wanderlei Silva Despite entering the ring at a weight disadvantage, he managed to outpoint the former Pride champion. In the third round, Wanderlei Silva proved why he's known as "Crazy Dog," engaging Popó in a frank exchange. In a clinch, he reminisced about his MMA days and nearly landed a knee, but stopped himself at the last minute.

In the next round, Wanderlei went on the offensive again, turning the fight into a straight-shooting affair. Even after the referee called a stop, he continued, earning a warning and losing a point. Shortly after, he headbutted Popó, receiving another warning and losing another point, and, just as the situation seemed under control, he headbutted him again, resulting in his disqualification.
