After suffering an injury during training, Vitor belfort was forced to leave Spaten Fight Night 2, an event that takes place this Saturday (27), in São Paulo, and, consequently, left the long-awaited rematch against Wanderlei SilvaHowever, the former UFC champion tried to cheer up his fans. The Rio native plans to remain active in combat sports, even at 48, and is keeping a close eye on his eternal rival's progress.
So much so that Belfort has guaranteed he will honor his commitment, competing in the beer brand's next event against the former Pride FC champion. It's true that the long-awaited rematch between the veterans was scheduled twice (by the UFC in 2012 and this season by Spaten), but it fell through due to Vitor's injury.

Regardless, the Rio native, despite fans' mistrust, asserted his interest in facing Wand again, keeping the rivalry alive. It's worth noting that in their first fight, in 1998 in São Paulo, Belfort knocked out the Curitiba native in 44 seconds.
"We have two fights there. Spaten already has two events. The winner will fight Vitor, and then there's the reserve. The rematch will happen, but he'll be on the reserve. If he loses, he'll be on the reserve. So, we're waiting. Next year, if he wins, for sure."“, declared the MMA legend at the press conference organized by Spaten, which was attended by SUPER FIGHTS.
