It's true that the New Zealander made clear his respect for the renowned striker and his admiration for his fighting style. However, Ulberg, ranked third in the UFC light heavyweight rankings and riding a streak of eight wins, emphasizes that he has what it takes to dethrone the champion, seen by many as the division's bogeyman.

"A tough and very good fight. I've always seen Ankalaev as a big threat. Poatan too. He's got power. I'd like Ankalaev to win because I know what I can do to him. Poatan would be a huge fight. This has always been a fight I'd love to do because he's tough. He's paid his dues and done a great job in the UFC. I just think Ankalaev can stay in the sport longer; he's a little younger too," the fighter declared.
