Despite being 50 years old, an advanced age to compete in combat sports, Acelino Popo does not think about retiring. So much so that, this Saturday (27), in São Paulo, the boxing legend faces Wanderlei Silva in the main event of Spaten Fight Night 2 and is already planning his next appearance in the ring. The target? Vitor belfort who, like Mad Dog, is an MMA icon.
In an exclusive interview to SUPER FIGHTSPopó made his desire to face the former UFC champion in the ring clear and provoked. Interestingly, the boxing legend took the fight against Wand at the last minute, replacing Belfort, who suffered a training injury. Since the Bahia native has clashed with the Rio native before, he didn't forget their rivalry, making it clear that his interest was in facing him, not the Curitiba native.

"If he doesn't back down again, definitely. If Spaten Fight Night invites me, I'll beat him, easy. That's what I wanted, because if you fight a technical guy, you start to have a more technical fight. If you fight a guy like Wanderlei, who's a gyrocopter, you don't know what's coming. So, you become much smarter, more focused, and even more trained, because you don't know what's coming," declared the boxing legend.
