Renato Moicano believes that the chances of Charles of the Bronx increased significantly at UFC Rio. The former champion was scheduled to face Raphael Fiziev in the main fight of the event, but, after the Kyrgyzstani's injury, will measure forces with Mateusz Gamrot.
In a video published on his YouTube channel, Moicano pointed out that the duel against Mateusz gamrot it is less complicated for Charles of the BronxThe Brasilia native highlighted that Fiziev's stand-up fighting skills, having already knocked him out, could complicate things for the former champion in front of his home crowd.

"Don't worry... He (Charles) can lose, but it's an easier fight than Fiziev. I don't know if it's because I'm scared of Fiziev, because I've already lost to him, but he's a guy with knockout power, kicking ability, and bringing him to Brazil to face Charlinho... (Gamrot) It'll be a better fight for Charles than if it were Fiziev," he said. Renato Moicano.
One of the main disadvantages of Charles of the Bronx, in the opponent change, is in the style of play. While Raphael Fiziev is a specialist in Muay Thai, Mateusz gamrot bet on grappling. To Renato Moicano, who trains with the Pole, this won't be a problem for Charles, as the former champion will have a short time to adapt and, due to his technical fit, will find many opportunities on the ground.
"He (Charles) will probably have four more sparring sessions in two weeks. So, in four sparring sessions, he can adapt his game. I don't see that much of a problem... I train with Gamrot. Gamrot is a guy we see in his fights. He'll go to the ground all the time, and I see Charles having plenty of opportunities to finish him," Moicano concluded.
At 34 years old and in the UFC since 2020, Mateusz gamrot is currently ranked eighth in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3 kg). The Pole has four wins in his last five fights and is coming off a victory over the Slovakian Ludovit Klein, in May of this year.
With Charles of the Bronx e Mateusz gamrot in the main fight, UFC Rio takes place on October 11th, at Farmasi Arena, located in the West Zone of the Marvelous City.
