The former fighter spoke about the subject on the latest edition of the podcast 'The Fighter vs The Writer,' from the North American website MMA Fighting. For him, it's difficult to find any purpose in fighting beyond the financial aspect.
“I think the problem with Conor is, will he attract the interest we think he would? We would all talk about his fight, but Michael chandler e Conor McGregor are a completely irrelevant fight. Right? It has no relevance whatsoever. It does nothing except, I guess, sell tickets, maybe?” said Brown, who competed in the UFC from 2008 to 2023.

While McGregor hasn't stepped into the octagon since July 2021, when he fractured his left leg in a fight against Dustin poirier, Chandler is on a three-game losing streak and had his last win against Tony Ferguson, in May 2022.
The American and the Irishman were the coaches of the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, which aired on UFC Fight Pass between May and August 2023. After much anticipation, the fight between the two was scheduled to be the main attraction of the UFC 303, but the Notorious left the duel after fracturing the little toe on his left foot a few weeks before the fight, being replaced by Alex Poatán e Jiri Prochazka.
