Renato Moicano decided to respond to the criticism he received after rumors that he had backtracked on his intention to face Charles of the Bronx at UFC Rio. In a video published on its official YouTube channel, the Brazilian appeared with a serious tone and elaborate vocabulary, imitating a presidential speech. The content quickly went viral among fans.
"Official address to the Brazilian nation. I leave the legacy of my barbecue to the wrath of my enemies. I regret not having been able to do for these good and generous Brazilian people, and especially for those most in need, all the good I intended," Moicano said, ironically.

The lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) followed the comical line, exaggerating the rhetoric to counter accusations that he had run away from the challenge.
"They want to destroy me at any cost. I have become too dangerous for the powerful of the day and the privileged castes. Old, bald, and tired, I preferred to give an account to the Lord. Not for crimes I didn't commit, but for powerful interests I went against," he said.
Despite the good-natured repercussion, the situation of UFC Rio is already defined. Ultimate announced, last Tuesday (23), that the Polish Mateusz gamrot will be responsible for replacing Raphael Fiziev and face Charles of the Bronx at the event on October 11th, in the Marvelous City.

"Official address to the Brazilian nation. I leave the legacy of my barbecue to the wrath of my enemies. I regret not having been able to do for this good and generous Brazilian people, and especially for those most in need, all the good I intended."
The lies, the slander, and the most vile fabrications were generated by the malice of spiteful and gratuitous enemies, through targeted, systematic, and scandalous publicity. Added to this is the weakness of friends who failed to defend me in the positions they held, the felony of hypocrites and traitors, whom I benefited with honors and favors, and the moral insensitivity of hitmen I handed over to justice, all contributing to creating a false climate in public opinion in this country against me.
If simply renouncing the position to which I was elevated by popular vote would allow me to live forgotten and at peace on the soil of my homeland, I would gladly resign. But such a renunciation would only give them an opportunity to persecute and humiliate me with even greater fury. They want to destroy me at any cost. I have become too dangerous for the powerful of the day and the privileged castes.
Old, bald, and tired, I chose to give an account to the Lord. Not for crimes I didn't commit, but for powerful interests I thwarted. Sometimes because they opposed the nation's own interests, sometimes because they mercilessly exploited the poor and humble. Only God knows my bitterness and suffering. May the blood of an innocent serve to appease the wrath of the Pharisees.
I thank those who, from near and far, have brought me the comfort of their friendship. The people's response will come later.
