The Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare has already been selected to face the Cuban Yoel romero twice, but both times, once due to physical problems of each athlete, the duel ended up not getting off the ground. Today, occupying second place in the official middleweight rankings and with his rival in third place, Jacaré believes that there is no longer any reason to postpone the duel, which, according to him, should define the next challenger for the belt in the under-84kg category.

“There is no other opponent that makes sense other than (Yoel) Romero, so this is a fight that must happen. I'm just waiting for the UFC to announce this fight. People always ask me who my next opponent will be and I say I believe it will be Romero, but I'm waiting for the announcement”, said Jacaré, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.
Jacaré also assured that he will be the next middleweight champion and said that, until then, he will even accept duels in the top category. “I will always be ready to be champion. I work for the UFC and some fighters like to do the work of matchmakers. I am a fighter. If the UFC agrees on a date and an opponent in the middleweight or light heavyweight division, I will be ready to be champion”, he assured.
At 35, Ronaldo Jacare He has a professional record of 22 wins, three losses and one unsuccessful fight. The former champion of the extinct Strikeforce debuted in Ultimate in May 2013 and, since then, he has won five consecutive victories, the most recent of which was over Chris Camozzi in April this year.
